To Cope with bigger ships and the number of passengers, southampton port has spent £29 million on terminal facilities in the past few years.

City Terminal-
Around £10 million was spent expanding city terminal to cope with Royal Caribbeans Freedom class cruise ship MS Independence of the Seas that entered service in April 2008. The 15-deck ship can accommodate 4,370 passengers served by 1,360 crew.
In return the cruiseline has signed a seven year contract with the port and gets priority use of the terminal.

Dock Gate 10 is 500 yards away from the Terminal.
Southampton Central Railway Station & the coach station are approximately 1mile from
Dock Gate 10.
Southampton Airport is 5 miles away.
Southampton is serviced by the M3 and M27, with the Port well sign posted.

There is a dedicated taxi rank outside the Arrivals Hall.
A fully licensed bar and café is available in the Departure Lounge, after check-in.
There are vending machines in the Arrival Lounge for visitors.
Mayflower Park is an excellent vantage point to watch the ship sail
Ocean Terminal -
The remainder of the money has been spent on the new ocean terminal named after the building that was in the same area where the titanic sailed in 1912. The terminal opened in
may and has been built on the back of a 20 year agreement with carnival uk, which gives carnival brands P & O cruises, Princess Cruises And Cunard priority use.

Dock Gate 4 is 1 mile from the Terminal.
Both Southampton Railway Station & the coach station are only 1 mile from Dock Gate 4.
Southampton Airport is approximately 5½ miles away.
Southampton is serviced by the M3 and M27, with the Port sign posted.
Facilities at the Ocean Cruise Terminal

There is a dedicated taxi rank.
A fully licensed bar and café is available in the Departure Lounge.

Mayflower Terminal -
which is currently used mainly by P & o cruises and Princess cruises.

Dock Gate 10 is less than a mile from the Terminal.
Both Southampton Railway Station & coach station are ½ mile from Dock Gate 10.
Southampton Airport is 5 miles away.
Southampton is serviced by the M3 and M27, with sign posts to the Docks.

There is a dedicated taxi rank outside the Arrivals Hall.
A fully licensed bar and café is available in the Departure Lounge, after check-in.

The viewing gallery is usually open approximately one hour before the vessel sails. Proof
of identity such as passport or picture driving licence is required to obtain a security pass.
Queen Elizabeth Terminal -
is currently used by cunard.

Dock Gate 4 is 1 mile from the Terminal.
